I heard about Karen’s program through a friend who had completed the program last fall. She raved about how great she was feeling, the lack of “brain fog”, her new lease on life. As I had started my own personal journey at the start of the year in order to feel “healthier in 2021”, I signed up and started the six week eating program, fitness plan and lecture series in mid-March. This program lived up to and exceeded all my expectations. Over the six weeks, I eliminated foods from my diet including sugar, caffeine, and gluten. I had never done this before and while I did not have any adverse reactions to any foods when added back in, I did find that I just felt better. I slept better, I was more alert, my mood was positive! A bonus was the loss of nine pounds and several inches! The benefits of the program include comprehensive meal plans with recipes (that were all DELICIOUS), a fitness program as well as weekly lectures. I particularly loved the lectures which I found were educational with two extremely knowledgeable “experts” in their respective fields of wellness and naturopathic medication. The follow up emails and private Facebook group provided extra content and dialogue to enhance the learning. I cannot recommend this program highly enough. I have shared my experience with friends, my book club and family members. I am delighted with the outcome and quite honestly, will miss the contact with members of the group. Hi, I’m Nicole Sandilands, Naturopathic Doctor and co-owner of Durham Natural Health Centre. I have a huge passion for treating women’s health, hormones and helping couples on their fertility journey. Having worked with many women who are struggling with their own hormones, I work with you to understand what is going on in your body and put you on a plan that helps to bring them back into balance so you can feel like yourself again.I graduated from McMaster University with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and continued my studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. I grew up in Pickering, so it was only natural that I open a clinic here in my hometown alongside my co-pilot in life, my twin sister, Dr. Natalie McCulloch ND. We opened the doors of Durham Natural Health Centre in 2012 and have never looked back. In my spare time, you will find me running after my 3 young boys and when I’m not with them, you can find me exercising, trying out new recipes, diving into a good book or spending time with friends and family. I have been fortunate enough to help many couples become parents and I would be honored to be a part of your journey!

INITIAL ASSESSMENT (60 min) — Our first session together is an opportunity for your practitioner to get to know about you, your history, any struggles or imbalances going on, your current health status and regime and where you want to move forward in your journey. How do you want to FEEL by the end of our journey together and where can I help?

CONSULTATIONS (30 min)— Inside this session your practitioner is there to ensure you’re feeling more educated, empowered and inspired about moving forward. She’s also there to check-in with you to see if your protocol is working as it should be.

YES. However, if your primary practitioner thinks it would be best for you to meet with one of our other coaches due to their specialty and experience, that will be advised within one of your consults.
This assessment tool helps both you and your practitioner will take a deeper look into your current health; mind, body and soul. You may notice yourself writing about things you didn’t realize were bothering you or affecting your day-day living until someone actually asked you the right questions. It helps to breakdown certain signs and symptoms, especially in the area of your hormones, digestive health and inflammation patterns.

There are actually 2 protocols; Vegetarian’s and Omnivore’s. The meal plans throughout this program are made up of real whole food with the proper synergy and balance to reduce inflammation and cravings, optimize digestion, bowels and energy and lose weight if that is your goal. These plans are full of delicious recipes with real ingredients you will recognize and understand where and how to buy and completely appropriate for your entire family to enjoy. No need to make two meals here. I move you through 3 different phases of meal planning and food consumption to build a foundation within, stoke your metabolic system and re-train your gut, hormones and palate to ask for the foods that balance you most. They are also customizable based off of your need.
The entire program is a mix of strength training, walking, cardio and yoga. When you meet with Karen for your initial assessment, we will discuss options based on your current fitness level and goals.
Yes. We do recommend foundational supplements and encourage you to get on them, but it’s not mandatory. That being said I can tell you that if you aren’t setting the foundation and tone for your body, via the right supplement base and key nutrients, your body simply won’t respond in the way you’re hoping. Depending on what is going on hormonally, your practitioner may recommend additional support in way of supplements, herbs, tinctures or body and energy care work.

There are no personal guarantees, but chances are YES, your body will finally begin to shed the excess pounds of inflammation and protection is has been carrying around for so long. This whole program is focused on empowering your body and making it feel safe and supported. You will be cutting the crap and BS around everyone story you were told or believed about how your body functions. Once you learn the why, then apply the new meals, the new exercise, the new supplements and shift your perspective your body will naturally let go of the pounds.
While it is not mandatory, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you have a Facebook account. If you don’t want to use your own account, you can sign in as a friend so you can take advantage of the group aspect of the program. There will be a lot of BONUS content uploaded into the group, plus weekly interaction.
All of our class modules will be pre-recorded and uploaded directly to your member area for easy access. However, we do have LIVE group coaching calls every (insert date) so you can ask questions throughout the program.
NOT SURE HOW TO ANSWER THIS???? It depends on your insuance coverage. Your one-on-one consultations with your practitioners are likely to be covered through your extended health benefits. As for the group coaching and program portion, it is possible to have this covered under your health spending account, however, best to look into your own individual plan to determine your own coverage.
