What were your health and fitness goals when you originally started training with Karen?
My goals were to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. I wanted to increase my energy, and set an example for my daughter.
What are your main reasons for choosing Karen as your personal trainer?
Karen has so much knowledge and experience about fitness.
She also understands the importance of nutrition, and includes nutrition in her training approach. My new way of eating has made all the difference with my weight loss!
What accomplishments have you achieved so far?
I have lost 22 lbs. I exercise on a daily basis. I have signed up for a triathlon race this summer.
What is the most memorable training moment with Karen?
The moment that she said: “you should do a triathlon.” The fact that she thought I could do it made it seem possible. And of course, any workout that focuses on legs. My muscles won’t let me forget!
How has your nutrition improved since you first starting training?
I have finally realized the role that sugar and carbohydrate has had on my weight and health. I eat whole foods now- vegetables, fruits, meat, nuts and eggs. And I have a protein shake when I am on the go, instead of muffins and bagels.
What has helped you most to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle?
I focus on the fact that I feel so much better and have more energy. Being accountable to my family and Karen helps too!
How has fitness and maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle changed and affected your life? For example; confidence, family, career, goals in life etc…
I have more energy and easier to balance career and family.
I have more fun in my life too. I look forward to training with Karen, or workouts for triathlon. Or hiking with my family or going for an open water swim or a bike ride. There is so much to do that I was missing when I was sedentary.
My two-year old daughter will often ask me: “Are you going for a run, mommy?” Or she pretends that she is “swimming laps.” She does lunges and squats around the house.
How has Karen guided you in terms of Sports & life performance coaching? (“Life” goals aside from fitness)
I really feel like it is possible to change habits and strive for a healthier and happier life.
What do you like most about working with Karen?
Karen is so knowledgeable and experienced that it is impossible not to get results training with her. She is also kind hearted and personable- and this makes training a pleasure.
