What were your lifestyle and fitness goals when you started training with Karen?
I wanted to improve my upper body strength, to lose at least 30 pounds and to improve my fitness level.
What are your main reasons for choosing Karen as your personal trainer?
I knew I needed help to lose weight and improve my fitness level and I had a friend who recommended Karen very highly.
What improvements have you achieved so far?
My strength and energy level has increased quite a bit. I have also lost more than 20 pounds and almost 10 inches around my waist.
What is the most memorable training moment with Karen?
I couldn’t even do a pushup when I first started. One day I did ten pushups and I felt that I had really achieved something.
How has your nutrition improved since you first starting training?
I eat regular meals and snacks. I drink more water and don’t drink any pop or juice anymore. I eat more fish and lean protein and have cut out fried foods and cut down on my sugar and salt intake. I have started to eat more fruits and vegetables I also take vitamins regularly including calcium and fish oil. I have also cut out white bread and pasta and cheese.
What is your favorite “cheat” or “indulgence” food?
A piece of pie – apple, peach or rhubarb or a glass of wine.

Sumo squats and shoulder press
