and have spent most of my life researching, studying and certifying myself as an expert in the area of holistic nutrition, health, exercise and mind-body well-being.
As a registered nutritionist, holistic lifestyle and fitness expert, Karen brings a unique blend of experience gained working in the health industry for over 20 years.
Her holistic health coaching offers an individualized process to help you move forward in life and to end the diet/binge cycle for good. She provides coaching tools and assists with strategies to promote self-discovery and the exploration of different perspectives to help inspire you to reach your health and wellness goals. She has had great success with her clients by taking a holistic approach to health. Karen believes every individual requires support, knowledge and compassion to achieve great health and wellness.
I'm karen gallagher and this is my story...
Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Karen grew up on small hobby farm. Most of her time was spent either riding horses or at the rink practising her favourite sport, figure skating. When time allowed, Karen also played field hockey, rugby and ran track and field.
At the age of 13, Karen begged her parents for a gym membership, after getting a taste of weight training from one of the training camps she attended for figure skating. She remembers walking into the gym, having her first training session and how it made her feel. Inspired, empowered, confident, and energized! She had found a new passion that not only complimented her sport but as well one that she couldn’t live without.
After leaving University and knowing that her calling was in the health and fitness industry she went on to become a Certified Personal Trainer, Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Registered Holistic Health Coach, Certified Culinary Nutritionist, STOTT Pilates trained instructor, Spin Instructor, Power Skating Coach, Reiki Practitioner, NCCP Level One Figure Skating Coach and more certifications than she can even remember.
Karen has also successfully competed as a National bikini and figure athlete for 10 years. In 2010 she had the opportunity to compete at the Arnold Classic with over 100 bikini athletes from around the world and placing top 15.
Even as a competitive athlete, Karen struggled with her relationship with food and body image. She realized that maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle had nothing to do with a specific diet and exercise program. Instead, it was the holistic approach that allows her to live in a body she loves and lifestyle that is sustainable. She embark on her own mental and physically transformation which she now teaches to women of all walks of life!
Karen firmly believes that a lifestyle happens outside of a “perfect” plan and that everyone should embrace their own journey. She also is a huge advocate of people going through their own self-discovery so that they can increase their self-awareness and find what they truly want and deserve in life.
Karen’s specialty is; educating and inspiring women to lead healthier and more balanced lifestyles, weight loss, strength conditioning, whole food nourishment, healing emotional eating, and self-love. Without having to diet ever again.
Karen uses a holistic coaching approach when it comes to helping women achieve their goals that focus on 4 main pillars of wellness. Physical fitness, Nutrition, Mindset and lifestyle.
Karen has made it her life’s mission, passion and greatest joy learning about the human body and more specifically a woman’s body and have connected myself with some of the best practitioners in the business so that I can work with woman like you and help you feel AMAZING!
