I get asked all the time, “What motivates and inspires you?”. To be honest, there are several reasons and people who inspire me each and everyday to continue doing what I love! I must admit, I LOVE to move my body and keep healthy; however, there are moments where I too, feel less motivated and want to stay cuddled up under a warm cozy blanket on the couch! That is right, even us die hard fitness freaks have our moments where the last thing we want to do is strap on a pair of sneakers and hit the iron.
Health and fitness is a way of life for me and it is my choice to not only look healthy and fit but most importantly to feel healthy. But there are those days when even the best of us cannot muster up enough willpower and the motivation… therefore it must come from somewhere else. Trust me, we are normal!!
What drives me is how energetic and powerful I feel after working out while following a clean diet. Not only do I feel strong physically but also mentally. It amazes me what I accomplish in a day after an intense workout even if it is short and sweet. Sometimes though, this feeling of healthiness is not enough to get me inspired, so I look upon important people and role models in my life.
I have always been a huge fan of Monica Brant since I can remember. Her beauty, athleticism, poise, passion and drive really inspire me. Not to mention the likes of Jamie Eason and Ava Cowan. I also look up to my friend and mentor Nancy DiNino who has more passion and drive than anyone I know in the business! Also, my trainer and friend Andre Rzazewski who continues to amaze me with his knowledge, experience, dedication and devotion as an athlete and professional in the industry.
Most importantly, what REALLY inspire me are my clients, friends and family. They never cease to amaze me of their daily dedication and willingness to improve their health and lifestyles. They are more than appreciative on so many levels and I feel so blessed to have these positive people in my life.
When ever they reach a goal it is rewarding to see their face light up with happiness and feeling of achievement. Really, there is no better feeling in the world knowing that I played a part in improving their lifestyle. This is what drives me!
What I have learned over the past 18 years I have been in this business is that we all come in different shapes, sizes and athletic abilities. We all have our challenges and we all simply want to be accepted for who we are. What matters most to me is to be able to inspire as many people as possible to become the BEST version of themselves, not only physically but mentally as well. And most importantly, to accept themselves for whom they are and what they have accomplished. I put as much energy into teaching fitness as I do to empowering the mind.
I am so privileged to be doing what I love and to be able to change a person’s life for the better. It really does put a smile on my face and an extra little kick when I need it most. Whether I hear these words of appreciation or I simply see it in their smiles, I know that is all I need to keep me inspired!
