What were your fitness and competition goals when you started training with Karen?
To do a figure competition
What are your main reasons for choosing Karen as your personal trainer?
She is very educated on nutrition. It was important to me to have a trainer who knew how to train healthy. I didn’t want to hurt my body, and through my strength, conditioning and meal plan and she created a plan which continued to be healthy, and get the benefits and results I wanted
What improvements have you achieved so far in your physique since training with Karen?
I have toned my legs, being a hockey player my entire life I had a more muscular/thicker bottom half. Karen’s programs helped me balanced out my body, and lose my hockey legs
What has benefited you the most when training with Karen?
-I feel more confident with my body, and I also have learned so much more on how to eat healthy and properly
– she also has taught me how to push myself at the gym to get the results I want
What do you like most about your pre-contest training and diet?
-the once a week I get to cheat!!!
-you get to appreciate the taste of spices and sauces once it is all completed.
Would you recommend Karen as a trainer? Why?
Yes!!! She is very personable; she is well educated on nutrition and fitness!! She also gets you the results you want in a healthy manner.
What are your favorite “diet” and “non-diet” foods?
Diet- oatmeal with cinnamon and strawberries, wine on competition day!!
Non diet- jelly beans, ice cream and pizza! And of course wine
What is/are your favorite exercises?
-ABS!
-hip adductors/abductors (love muscular tight legs )
-plyometrics
What are your most memorable moments training with Karen?
-doing posing, up to this moment I have been a true hockey player-not actually being comfortable/able to walk in heals- now I can!!! Practicing NOT bouncing while walking in heals!!!
What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?
-top 10 at UFE
-silver metal at CIS hockey nationals
-completing a half marathon in 1 hr and 45 minutes
